BEEF STEAKETTES & FAVA BEANS
BEEF STEAKETTES – 9 (1/2 cup) large flat patties
3/4 pound lean ground beef
3/4 cup drained canned Fava beans*
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium size onion, chopped fine
1/2 cup whole grain bread crumbs*
1/2 cup salsa
I froze the remaining beans & will use them whenever I make patties or in soups etc.
Puree the beans, W. Sauce, and eggs together until the beans are mashed. Mix it together well with all the other ingredients. Measure in half cup amounts and flatten each well. Press each round flat. Bake on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 º F for 30 minutes or until baked through. I save the crusts from my own healthy bread, put them into the oven after any baking & turn the oven off; It takes several times until the crusts are dried.
